The Skinny On:

PLACERITA CANYON,

Just off the 14 Fwy. This is a great place to spend a few hours or longer on any given day. The park is family friendly with a nature center and some easy trails that can accommodate both young children as well the out of shape. These trails offer plenty of native plants and places to rest along your way. For the more adventurous there are much harder trails in the park. I will write about those in a couple of weeks as it was getting too late in the day to tackle. This is not like a neighborhood park but more like a camp ground,(though there is no overnight stays). I highly recommend visiting Placerita Canyon whether it be to relax, hike,see where gold was discovered here locally, or just  for the drive through the canyon(which will take you through to Sand Canyon),I doubt you will be disappointed.
