Mexican Food: #103
Well, I originally was going to have 4 categories of Mexican Food ranging from the simplest junk food chains up to what I feel is pretty much the real thing. After careful consideration and feedback I’ve decided that my Mexican Food #103’s are really about the same as my #102 picks taste wise. The main difference seems to be that these restaurants like to pretty up their plates with a lot of sauce, cheese, sour cream, and sometimes a dollop of Guacamole. For some reason there is a need to put the Tostada’s in a huge fried flour tortilla as well! YES IT”S PRETTY BUT….. I do not enjoy eating dry chicken hunks, wet beans and a soggy tortilla just because of the fancy presentation!!!! They usually offer Margaritas, beer and wine as well.Seating is booths as well as tables and most have a lower lighting environment. There is usually chips and salsa served as well but overall the flavors are no more authentic then Mexican Food #102’s! These eating establishments include all the fancier restaurants like El Chaparral, El Torito, Dario’s, Betitos, and everything in between so I would recommend them if you want more of a feeling “of eating out”, especially on Friday night date night!
